Board & Governance Expertise
Dr. Lobana has served on multiple boards and committees, shaping governance and policy decisions. She is Chair of the Advisory Board for McMaster’s AI Society and a former board member of the International Internal Audit Standards Board, University of Waterloo’s UWCISA Institute, and IIA Canada. She has also served as Chair of the Technology Steering Committee for OECM and a committee member for CPA Canada’s Technology Advisory Committee. Her experience extends to advising organizations on governance best practices, AI ethics policies, and risk oversight.
Academic Leadership
As a Course Director at York University, she teaches Governance of IT to graduate students. Previously, she was an Assistant Professor at Queen’s University, where she taught AI Ethics and helped shape curriculum development in emerging technologies. She has also lectured at McMaster University, University of Waterloo, and IIT, where she received a 5/5 instructor rating for her engaging and insightful teaching. Her courses have empowered professionals to navigate AI’s impact on business and society.
